ที่มา
บมจ.ทีโอที ได้รับมอบหมายจากกระทรวงเทคโนโลยีและการสื่อสาร (ทก.) ให้ร่วมจัดการประชุมสัมมนาวิชาการ (ICT Forum 2006) ระหว่าง 2 - 4 สิงหาคม 2549 เพื่อแสดงนวัตกรรมทางด้านเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร ในวันที่ 4 สิงหาคม 2549 หัวข้อ IPv6: Innovative Project in Thailand เป็นเรื่องที่น่าสนใจ จึงได้ประสานงานกับลูกค้าที่สนใจส่วนหนึ่ง นี่คือที่มาของการที่ผมได้เข้าร่วมสัมมนาในครั้งนี้

ผมได้รับเชิญจาก คุณวรรเทพ ทรงศุภชัยกุล ผู้จัดการส่วนบริการลูกค้าจังหวัดลำปาง และคุณธวัชชัย หงษ์หิรัญ ไปสัมมนา ในงาน Bangkok International ICT Expo 2006 ระหว่าง 2 - 5 สิงหาคม 2549 เดินทางโดยรถตู้ ร่วมกับอาจารย์ และนักวิชาการ จากสถาบันต่าง ๆ เช่น ม.นเรศวร และ ม.ธรรมศาสตร์ พวกเราทั้ง 10 คนพักกันที่โรงแรมรัชดาซิตี้ ทานอาหารเย็น 2 มือที่ ร้านนาทอง ถ.รัชดาภิเษก และร้าน Terrace สาขาเซ็นทรัลชิดลม วันงานนอกจากไปชมงานที่อิมแพ็ค ก็มาดูงานที่ร้าน Tnet สาขาชิดลม

มีข้อจำกัดบางอย่าง ทำให้เราฟังได้เพียง 3 หัวข้อ ต้องยอมรับว่าทุกหัวข้อยอดเยี่ยมมาก เพราะทำให้รู้ว่าผมจะนิ่งเฉยใช้ IPv4 ต่อไปอย่างเดียวไม่ได้ เพราะกำลังจะหมดในปี 2011 ถ้าแนวโน้มการใช้ยังเป็นเช่นปัจจุบัน เราทุกคนในโลก คงต้องเริ่มตื่นตัว กับการใช้งานเครือข่ายอีกวงในอินเทอร์เน็ต คือ IPv6 ได้แล้ว ประโยชน์ที่ ดร.สินชัย ชี้ให้เห็นการนำ IPv6 มาใช้อย่างชัดเจนคือ Sensor และ Peer-to-Peer นอกจากนั้นยังได้เห็นความพยายามใช้ประโยชน์จาก IPv6 และรู้จักองค์กร ที่สนับสนุนเทคโนโลยีด้านนี้อย่างชัดเจน เพราะ ThaiSARN ได้ปิดตัวไปแล้ว ก็คงต้องฝากความหวังไว้กับ ThaiREN (Research and Education Network) ที่จะเชื่อมเครือข่ายของ Uninet และโรงเรียนเข้าด้วยกันได้สำเร็จ .. นักเรียนในประเทศไทยจะได้เข้าถึงอินเทอร์เน็ตได้อย่างเท่าเทียมกัน
มีเวลาเดินในส่วนนิทรรศการไม่กี่ชั่วโมง พบอะไรใหม่ ๆ มากมาย เช่น บูทของบริษัทซอฟต์แวร์จำนวนมาก สินค้าราคาพิเศษ ทั้งมียี่ห้อ และโนเมน เครื่องฉายภาพ (Projector) ขนาดเล็กราคาเพียง 4000 บาท และงานนิทรรศการเทิดพระเกียรติเป็นต้น นอกจากนั้นยังได้ CD จันทรา รุ่น 2 ติดมือมาอีก 2 ชุด ก็ตั้งใจว่าจะนำมาเผยแพร่ รวมถึง Brochure อีกมากมายมาเต็มกระเป๋า ตั้งใจจะนำมาอ่านที่บ้าน ว่าโลกเรามีอะไรเปลี่ยนไปบ้าง เพราะอยู่ลำปางคงยากที่จะมีใครมาเดินแจก Brochure ดี ๆ แบบนี้
